Germany
Germany is the seventh largest country in Europe, geographically, but has, with 82 million inhabitants, the largest population within the EU and is home to the third-largest number of international migrants worldwide. Germany has a very old culture, which is visible not only in the architecture of it's old villages and cities but also in the traditional events every region and every city celebrates. Deeply connected with the traditional events is the German cuisine, which offers great regional variety.
Germany is a federal parliamentary republic and includes sixteen states (Länder). The capital and largest city is Berlin.
Thanks to the geographycal position Germany offers everything from mountains and rivers to lakes, seasides and forests. Due to it`s varied landscapes, however, possessing the Alps, beautiful lakes, the Baltic Sea and the North Sea, and offers visitors a wide range of fun filled activities like hiking, cycling, camping and sailing.
South of Germany attracts many tourists and they head there to see the Black Forest and the Lake Constance. Lake Constance is the third largest freshwater lake in Central Europe and is internationally known as a paradise for sailers, windsurfers or even motorboat drivers. The Black Forest is one of the best known regions in Germany and is deeply connected with many clichés about the traditional German food, clothing and events.
The North and the Baltic Sea coasts it the Northern part of Germany include islands like Sylt or Rügen, which are also tourist attractions. Renting a bike to explore the region might be a brilliant idea and it can offer quaint, traditional seaside villages and amazing landscapes. If you want to have a beach holiday you can consider Rügen and Usedom islands that are very popular summer vacation destinations.
